Glendale Holiday Park.
19th May - 23rd May
Leaving out the transport it was a great few days. Superb weather, great location, but the Holiday Park was not what I am used to with other companies. The caravan was alright but their idea of "Gold Plus" is on a par with Haven and Parkdean's Bronze standard. Having said that it was good enough for the price and had got everything I needed. The Park itself was nicely laid out with well kept gardens but the amenities let the place down. The shop is tiny! You have to wait for someone to come out before you can go in. They only opened from 10:00 - 16:00 so I was out before they opened and they were closed when I got back. No chilled foods, (so no sandwiches). Bread but no butter; of any description. The freezers were not working so no microwave meals or icecream. Pop and Sweets aplenty but meals were limited to a Pot Noodle or a jar of Frankfurters; but no Hot Dog rolls.
The Bar/Restaurant opened from 14:00 'til Late. No all day breakfast here. Evening meals remain a mystery. Last orders for food was 19:45 and I was usually a good hours walk away at that time.
The following few birds are Yearly Firsts;
Cuckoo, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eider Duck, Linnet, Meadow Pipit and Osprey.
but I saw many more over the five days. I didn't see all the shorebirds I expected to see but everything else I saw made up for the slight disappointment.
